Boarding Cattery

About the Boarding Cattery

We offer full cattery services and we take particular pride in giving Special Care to each of our furry guests. Your cats comfort and health is our priority.

We are a non–communal cattery meaning all holidaying cats are not housed or exercised together, unless they are from the same family – this reduces the chances of illnesses like cat flu being transferred from one animal to another.

Your cats are housed in large spacious, multi-levelled cages, which include a pet bed, litter tray and food/water bowl with plenty of room still to move around.

We have 3 outside grassy runs, 3 covered runs, 2 conservatory areas and 2 inside runs that we rotate our guests into during the day (weather dependent).

For our older generation cats we have a special Geriatric section located in the centre of the cattery for warmth & comfort.

If we notice a problem, our Veterinarians will give your much loved cat a thorough health check and contact you if treatment or further diagnostics are required.

Our cattery has been running here at the Greenlane Veterinary Centre since 1983

Requirements:

Vaccination

We require your pets to be vaccinated within the last 12 months. If your pet has not been vaccinated in the last 2 years they will require an initial vaccination and then a booster a month later to get them back to a suitable vaccination level. Please remember to bring your vaccination cards with you if you are a new client of the Greenlane Veterinary Centre.

Contact Details

It is helpful if you can give us a contact number for yourself while you are away.

Admission Time

Please allow us 5 – 10 minutes for your cat’s admission to our cattery. We have a number of questions we need to ask in relation to departure dates, vaccinations, flea & worm treatments, dietary needs, medications if required, and contact numbers.

Special Needs

When your pets stay with us all their special needs are catered for.

Dietary:

We feed high quality dry foods (Hills Science diet or Iams), kitten, adult or senior formulations depending on the age of your pet and if your pet likes wet foods too we can supply Iams or Advance in fish, chicken or beef flavours. Should your pet be partial to a food we don’t supply, feel free to bring their foods from home with them. If your pet has been prescribed a specific Prescription Diet by your Veterinarian please inquire when you make your booking to whether we have that diet on hand.

Medications:

If your pet is currently on daily medication we are happy to look after these requirements. Whether they are diabetic, have kidney function problems, healing wounds or are recovering from orthopaedic surgeries. Our cattery staff are trained in giving medication and medication charts are kept to record their daily regime. We require you to supply us with any medications your pet maybe on at the time of admission.

Geriatric care:

We keep a close eye on our older generation guests’ monitoring their daily in’s & outs (eating, drinking, urinating & defecating), we provide extra bowls of water and heating pads to keep these older members snug & warm.

Complimentary skin and teeth check

On arrival to our cattery we give your pet a complimentary skin and teeth check before settling them into the cattery. For the benefit of all boarding cats it is our policy to check for fleas and treat your cat if necessary. If we discover your cat requires a dental we will call you and advise you of the cost of a dental and whether you would like this done during their stay.
